Waterhead U 9’s 5 Thatto Heath Crusaders U 9’s 13

After last weeks superb tackling stint Connor Pilling scored one of the best tries we have had the pleasure to see, and deservedly won The Parents Man of The Match Award along with another kebab supper tonight for his all round performance. Proud Dad John won the Cheshire Cat award for the broadest smile of the day.

This was a much improved Waterhead team than the one THC had beaten easily at Close Street last year. The first half was a close fought affair but in the second half THC really cut loose and showed what an excellent team Dave, John & Paul are creating.

James Newing continues to work his socks off and won The Most Improved Award.

Jarrod O’Connor won The Special Award for a hard working all round performance and a well taken try. It must be in the genes. Thanks Jane.

What can you say about Kurtis Asson Smith apart from “glad he plays for us and not against us” Superb performance from Kurtis topped off by 2 excellent tries.

Jack Dixon may need a Radox bath tonight to ease the bumps and bruises as he met Waterhead head on time and time again and deservedly won The Coaches Award.

6 tries from Josh Simm (without boots) 2 for Jake Kinrade and 1 from Lee Howard backed up by an excellent defensive display from Owen Litherland , Ryan Penny & Jordan meant we had a convincing away win.

Great to see Scott & Adam making yards and Scott offloading to create chances for others .

And so The THC under 9’s Nomads are on the road again next week at Milnrow. Close Street will be like playing an away game soon.

We are soon to be sponsored by Sat Nav.

Well done to every one of you. You make us ( without a cup of tea) on the sidelines very proud.

Must mention Paul for refereeing without causing world war 3.
